This week’s stock set features trees captured on a number of film stocks. We have examples here of popular emulsions like Kodak Portra 400 and Kodak Ektar as well as some expired films like Lomography 100 and Kentmere 400.
The first couple of shots are from Fujifilm’s now discontinued Pro 400H—much beloved by wedding photographers, much mourned by everyone.

Our designer-illustrator-graphic-artist-type buddies are always hunting for background textures and other stock photos, so we thought we’d provide some here that are shot on film (because film is awesome…and free film is doubly awesome).
These photos can also be used as examples of film stocks—particularly expired or discontinued films—for photographers who want to explore different emulsions.
If you want to use any of these photos in your own work (e.g., as background textures in composites), check out the super simple license. The human-readable summary: you essentially can do anything you want with the photos except try to sell them yourself.

This week’s photo set features a whole bunch of flowers shot on various film stocks. The name of each film used is in the title below the photo. Our fav is definitely Kodak Pro Image 100—a beautiful emulsion that is also pretty affordable (“affordable” relative to the prices of pro stocks like Portra).

This week’s set of free stock photos features wood textures. Pics include interior walls from a weathered barn, 60-year-old flooring and cabinets, and a recently felled oak tree.
This week’s stock set features Seattle’s iconic Space Needle. Mostly standard color shots along with a few graded and black-and-white options. Editorial use only.
Natura 1600 was a fast, fascinating color film stock discontinued by Fujifilm in 2017. You can still find rolls available on eBay, but they’ll cost you a kidney (or at least $50 to $100).
I shot these test pics way back in 2015, not once thinking it would be my first and last roll. I love the way it reproduces neon light at night. There are some street shots here as well as informal pics from a get-together at a moose-themed bar….Because of course there is a moose-themed bar.
You are absolutely welcome to use any of these as stock assets in your work, but mostly I wanted to make them available at 12Dot so that other photographers can have a few downloadable examples of a discontinued film.
